Details
The immensely popular and versatile Fairway 36 Flybridge Cruiser provides exceptional practicality and cruising ability. Produced in Australia by Fairway from 1982, these vessels saw a long production life with great success in the Australian market. With their round-bilge displacement hull, the 36's were blessed with good efficiency and seakeeping when underway.
"El Dorado" is a great example of the staple Australian-built 36 Flybridge, presenting in good condition inside and out, with various upgrades to better usability and reliability for its owners who use the vessel regularly.
A spacious cockpit with high bulwarks and copious storage provides a safe and usable area for outdoor activity at sea level. This is complemented by a large central stern door providing access to the duckboard where a sizable and current Highfield tender sits on davits. The cockpit also features a gas barbeque and an enormous fridge/freezer which is standard factory fitment across this model.
Through large sliding glass doors, the saloon presents a roomy, spacious environment that is very well-lit with nearly 360 degrees of window surrounds. To port, sits a large "L"-shape settee and dining table, providing plenty of seating. Lining the starboard side is a large galley, providing fantastic open bench space, plus a range of appliances, including a 4-burner gas stove, oven and refrigeration. To port and forward of the settee, sits the lower helm station, featuring NEW Raymarine electronics, autopilot, windlass controls, NEW Side Power bow thruster and bow thruster controls, plus a broad range of gauges and switchgear.
Down and forward we find the accommodation spaces, where a twin bunk cabin is located immediately to port, featuring a double lower bunk and single above. In the bow sits the master cabin with a spacious double bed and a great amount of storage. To the starboard side is the vessel's head, which is spacious and light, fitted with a separate shower compartment.
The flybridge is easily accessible via a generously sloped ladder with a stainless steel railing, where an additional common area is found. The flybridge offers a vast and clean space that can easily be tailored to your needs. The helm sits centralised with all the instruments you'd need and is flanked by two long lounges, all encapsulated by a set of very well-presented clears. High stainless-steel railing and canvas edges provide additional safety.
The engine room sits beneath the saloon floor for optimised weight distribution, sporting a single and efficient Perkins Sabre 225hp diesel, providing drive through a direct shaft. This efficient engine option, plus 650L of fuel, means efficient cruising at 8 knots using 12 L/h, or a very comfortable top speed of 14 knots.
"El Dorado" presents a great example of one of Australia's most popular motor vessels in this class. With fantastic spacious and light environments, this Fairway 36 provides endless comfortable cruising, thanks to its economical displacement hull. With regular maintenance, usage and upgrades, "El Dorado" has been loved well and often. For more information please call Jo Breen on 0432031100 or Jack Allison on 0411214402.
