This charming semi-planing Flybridge Cruiser was designed by the renown wooden boat expert Max Creese and professionally built by a local shipwright to be his own vessel, and remained under his ownership for 18 years. The quality of the double diagonal King Pine with dynal sheathing is evident as soon as you step on board, and the quality upholstery gives the vessel a true classic feel. The vessel also has some unique features including a cocktail cabinet made from recycled Australian Cedar taken from the '60 and over club' in Criterion St Hobart when the Club was demolished in the 1960's. The stunning wheel and navigation lights were a gift from Sir Alex Albert and great features of the vessel. This vessel has been well loved through outs its life, and has been used as a game fishing vessel off the Tasman Peninsular, regularly competed in Cruiser Racing at the Hobart Regattas, as a patrol vessel for the Royal Motor Yacht Club, and even taking an ABC Television crew to film the finish of the Sydney to Hobart Racer between 1983-1999. The vessel has also attended two wooden boat festivals, and is a real head turner wherever she pulls into port. The current owners have adored this vessel over their 14 year ownership, and have had it professionally maintained by a local shipwright. They have spared no expense maintaining the vessel including fitting a new engine, rewiring the vessel, and rejuvenating the hull and interior.
Inside, the vessel has a light and airy feel with excellent visibility. The accommodation is well appointed for a couple or family, with a large double forward, and two single berths. The galley is to starboard and features a large fridge with freezer compartment, and 2 burner stove. There is a separate toilet and shower, each in their own compartments.
The teak cockpit is well protected with clears and a cover, and is a versatile space for either relaxing at anchor, or for the serious fisherman. There is good access around the side decks to the bow which features an electric anchor winch. The flybridge has engine controls and wheel, and room for guests to enjoy the view.
Powered by a 235HP Yanmar which was professionally installed in 2006, this vessel cruises very economically at 12-15 knots, with a max speed around 20 knots.
With its excellent build quality and maintenance, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a stunning timber vessel which is ready to be enjoyed. This vessel is an ideal family or couples boat.
