With its stunning traditional lines, true pilothouse design, and modern upgrades, this vessel is sure to impress! Built in 1946 by C Brooks and Sons at Balmain NSW, the vessel was originally named "Silver Spray". It was then purchased in the 1980's by legendary cruising yachtsman Alan Lucas, who extensively sailed the East Coast of Australia, writing his famous cruising guides as he went. The vessel was then sold to two doctors, who sailed the vessel to Vanuatu where they worked for a number of years, using the now named "Malekula" as their home base. On arrival back to Australia, the vessel found her new home in Hobart, where it has been cruised extensively over the last 30 years. This vessel not only has a rich history, but has benefited from experienced owners being fastidious with its maintenance through out its life. Sure to impress even the fussiest chef, this impressive space features a with large domestic fridge, microwave oven, air fryer, and dual bowl stainelss steel sink with H/C pressurised water. There is also extensive bench space and storage giving it the feel of a small apartment. The accomodation is ideal for a couple with the ocassional guest. The saloon lounge can be utlised as a single berth if additional accommodation is required. Forward is a second cabin which has recently been converted to an office and storage space. The package is complete with bathroom with electric toilet, and separate shower stall opposite.

This vessel has the benefit of an external helm station, making it a joy to sail in any weather conditions. This area is protected by a bimini, and has a 'princess seat' across the stern, for the crew to relax on. There is easy access all around the vessel with the solid timber guard rail providing excellent security. Sail handling is simple with the boom furling mainsail, and furling headsail. These together with the autopilot make it simple to sail the vessel short handed.
