Joe Adams is renowned for designing yachts with exceptional performance that are easily managed shorthanded. This extended Adams 15 is an excellent example of this. Built for the 1988 Round Australia Bicentennial Double Handed Race which it successfully completed, it boasts an incredible racing history including two Melbourne to Osaka Double Handed Races, multiple Melbourne to Launceston and Launceston to Hobart Races, three Sydney to Hobart Races, and even a solo Trans-Tasman race! Whilst being a highly successful racer, this vessel is equally in its element as a family cruiser, or fast Bluewater cruiser, and features a stunning timber Tasmanian timbers fit out (Huon Pine, Celery Top, and Blackwood) which was lovingly completed by the current long term owner over many of years. The vessel has also been extensively upgraded including NEW 2021 STANDING RIGGING, NEW 2021 DOYLES STRATIS MAINSAIL, NEW 2019 DOYLES STRATIS FURLING HEADSAIL, NEW VHF RADIO, 2020 TOPSIDES PROFESSIONALLY RESPRAYED, the list goes on! With its perfect balance of performance and comfort, this versatile vessel will suit a range of applications. Whether cruising or racing, it is comfortable, easily managed shorthanded, and simply a joy to sail. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy sailing at its finest in a vessel that is capable of fulfilling even your most ambitious sailing aspirations!

Stepping inside, the charming interior is a great mix of quality timber trims and white finishes, giving a welcoming and airy ambience. To port is the stunning timber dinette with seating around the U shaped settee for 8 in comfort. The center board case has some built in storage compartments and the quality of its timber work is very impressive. Opposite is the galley running down the starboard side. This is very well appointed with a 2 burner gas stove with oven, large fridge and freezer, stainless steel bench top, and H/C water. There is also extensive storage ideal for extended passages. The accommodation is ideal for cruising with family and friends. Forward is a generous cabin with queen sized berth, and excellent storage. Aft to port is a second large double berth, with a single quarter berth opposite. There are two single bunk berths mid-ship and a single settee berth if additional accommodation is required. This vessel also has a traditional chart table with extensive electronics and radios, ideal for the serious navigator. The package is complete with a bathroom with toilet with holding tank, vanity, and separate shower bay.

On deck, the cockpit is deep and safe, and very well laid out for shorthanded sailing. There are high quality self tailing 2 speed winches through out the vessel, and with the AS NEW furling headsails and AS NEW mainsail in a boom bag with lazy, sailing is a breeze! The hard spray dodger is a great feature of the vessel, providing excellent protection from the elements, and keeps water out of the companion way in more challenging conditions. There is easy access forward around the wide side decks, and an electric anchor winch on the bow for easy anchoring. A great feature of this vessel is the lifting centreboard. This is easily managed with a winch on deck, changing the draft from 3.66m to 1.57m, perfect for enjoying shallow anchorages!

This vessel is powered by a well maintained Volvo 43HP diesel engine. This has been cleverly set up for extended passages with dual alternators, and is easily accessed for hassle free servicing. This provides easy cruising at 7 to 8 knots.

Having proven it's self time and time again, this is a vessel capable of anything you ask of it. Whether you dream of completing a Melbourne to Osaka race, or simply want to cruise the stunning waters of Southern Tasmania, this vessel does it all in speed and comfort.
