Designed by FRERS as a "racer/cruiser", built in the "bespoke" CNB yard of Beneteau yachts where quality and attention to detail were paramount, plus with lines akin to a SWAN, this magnificent FIRST 51 foot yacht has stood the test of time with an appeal many current designs would envy.
Performance orientated for the early part of the vessel's life, competing in many races around the US Great Lakes region with success, a sistership (La Poste) also did the 1989 Whitbread Round the World Race winning one of the legs, and then upgraded to a serious world cruising yacht in the late 1990's.
The then original owners cruised the Pacific extensively, while the current owners (professional engineers) cruised the Alaska region for six years then had the boat sailed from Alaska to Western Australia across the Great Aust Bight, where a major, no expense spared re-fit was undertaken in the Late 2000's.
The vessels racing heritage is still evident, but now set-up to be easily managed short handed with a cutter rig ( both headsails on furlers), 3 speed Lewmar primary winches, electric halyard winch and over-size rope clutches, plus sail trim is mainly operated from the cockpit.

The boat is very well laid out from the twin wheels steering to a spacious and comfortable cruising cockpit, to the "stepped bridge deck" a Swan type feature but improved to the extent it becomes a great spot under the dodger when on watch during the longer passages with the remote auto-pilot control at hand or sailing under wind vane steering.
The teak laid floors and seats around the cockpit are a real feature and are in excellent order having been renewed recently.
The access around the boat is excellent with wide side decks, good non skid areas, and thoughtful placement of gear for efficient handling too.
Down below the quality accommodation and build is again evident with a delightful timber fitout, featuring a spacious saloon with dinette capable of seating 8, and a real feature, the twin "club" chairs providing a great relaxation area.
A very well laid out galley with 3 burner stove including grill and oven, large capacity fridge/freezer and twin bowl stainless steel sink with hot/cold pressurised water is adjacent to the companionway steps to service the crew when on deck or relaxing in the cockpit.
The nav station is very efficient, electronics and wiring are all easily accessed from the custom designed switch panels ( again attention to detail).
For'ard of the saloon is port and starboard twin cabins with 2 single berths in each, then a huge for'ard cabin with massive gear storage and workshop facility, essential for the true cruiser.
Aft is the generous bathroom with toilet plus hot/cold shower and access from the saloon or as an ensuite to the aft master cabin.
This is a terrific cabin with a huge bed (King Size) plus extensive storage and even a seat/dressing area.
Auxiliary power is from the Perkins 80hp Diesel in excellent "as new" condition with all round access making servicing etc very easy.
A Genset is fitted, a Webasto Diesel heater, Watermaker plus extensive spares are all included with the boat, plus fresh off the slip with new antifouling, topsides all buffed and polished, the 3 blade feathering MAXPROP serviced and coated with Propspeed, anodes replaced and all through hull fittings checked and serviced
