Details
Tasmanian designed and built, the Knoop 27 was created after the great success of the Knoop 30 Cruiser/Racer. The Knoop 27 proved to be extremely popular as a great all rounder. Over 30 vessels were launched throughout the 80's and they immediately proved to be competitive twilight and round the buoy racers, whilst their ease of use made them ideal as a first family yacht. With their impressive performance, simple systems, and comfortable interiors, they continue to be highly sought after. This vessel is an excellent example of the design and is a real head turner with its gleaming blue top sides. Having been professionally antifouled and polished SEPT 2023, this vessel is ready for a summer of sailing!

Stepping inside, the interior is light and airy with a charming mix of clean white finishes and traditional timber trims. To port is a generous dinette with seating on the neatly upholstered settees for 4 in comfort. The well appointed galley is opposite. This features a 2 burner metho stove, stainless steel sink with fresh water, and icebox. The accommodation is excellent for cruising with family and friends and includes a large double v-berth forward, and two single pilot berths aft. The package is complete with a private bathroom with manual toilet.

Outside, the the large cockpit is well set up for both racing and cruising. This vessel is one of only a few to feature wheel steering, which is a great upgrade. With a furling headsail, self tailing primary winches, and mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, the vessel is easily managed short handed. Well set up for cruising, it also features an electric anchor winch on the bow, and boarding ladder on the stern. This vessel also features a very shallow draft of only 1.2m thanks to its Collins Tandem Wing Keel. This provides excellent stability and performance, whilst allowing you to enter anchorages other cruisers can only dream of!

This vessel is powered by a Volvo Penta 17HP Diesel Engine. This provides easy cruising at 5 knots.

Whether you are looking for a first yacht to explore the stunning waters of Southern Tasmania, or a competitive twilight racer, this vessel ticks all the boxes. The vessel does have some blisters primarily in the gelcoat under the waterline as is common with vessel's of this era. They are not structural, and vessel has been priced to compensate for this.
