Renowned their abilities as a safe and capable Bluewater cruiser, the Roberts 34 remains one of Bruce Roberts most popular designs. Many have completed significant passages, and even circumnavigated the globe. They are easy to sail, sea kindly in challenging weather, and forgiving enough to be an ideal first yacht. This vessel is a good example of the design. It was lovingly build between 1978 to 1993 where it was launched at the Bellerive Yacht Club. The vessel was built on a male mould using a very strong C-Flex construction method with woven roving, chop strand, and quality West System Epoxy. The stunning interior fit out was done by the shipwright Jeff Cuthbertson out of Queensland Maple. Since its launch, the vessel has been much loved as a family cruiser and sailed extensively around the waters of Southern Tasmania. It has been freshly anti-fouled, and presents an excellent opportunity to purchase a quality vessel, for an incredibly economical price. This vessel does not have a functional engine, and will need to be re-powered, and is priced to sell as is.
Stepping inside, the stunning timber fit out gives and warm and traditional feel. There is excellent natural light throughout the saloon and the quality upholstery is in good condition. The saloon is central with a generous timber folding leaf dinette to port, and seating for 6 in comfort. The accommodation is ideal for a family with two private berths in the forepeak, two settee berths, and two pilot berths aft. The package is complete with a private bathroom with electric toilet and vanity.
On deck, the cockpit is finished with quality Burmese Teak, and is deep and safe. This is ideal for both younger and older sailors! The wheel steering makes the vessel a joy for anyone to drive, and there are 6 self tailing winches for easy sail handling. Whilst the vessel is simple to sail with the furling headsail, there are also two AS NEW spinnakers which will please the more ambitious yachtsman. There is good access around the side decks, and an electric anchor winch forward.
This versatile vessel could be utilised as is as a comfortable and economical live-aboard, or re-powered and enjoyed as a family cruiser. It is well built, structurally sound, and priced for a quick sale. For more information please call Jo Breen on 0432031100 or John Radonic on 0459322862.
