Arguably one of the BEST SALAR 40'S to hit the market for sometime.
Presented in excellent condition by the long standing owner who has maintained the boat to the highest standards plus added many good features, this is a perfect opportunity to acquire one of these legendary Laurent Giles designs.
Built by John Levy, whom reputably built the best Salar 40's, the quality is evident through out the vessel
The cockpit has an open "pilothouse" feel to it and can be fully enclosed by the custom covers, this area is very well laid out for efficient operation when sailing short-handed plus has all the comforts including a custom built foldaway table for relaxing at anchor. Its just a few steps down into the well appointed saloon area fitted out with plenty of teak in excellent condition, and the great galley is to starboard with full stove, fridge and separate freezer, stainless steel sink with plenty of bench space and storage.
The dinette area has a lovely timber folding table, two custom leather covered settees, again great storage with a very comfortable "ambience. " about it.
A full bathroom is further for'ard then a dedicated storage area is for'ard again, with access to anchor lockers etc.
The separate "owners" aft cabin again is easily accessed from the cockpit, with a large double berth, full ensuite bathroom and nav station, plus the helm station in the "pilothouse" is only a few steps away, a great set-up when doing longer passages.
On deck there is a full wheel aft with close access to all the sheets to also sail the boat from this position, plus the transom seat provides a great spot for the crew when underway.
The decks provide good access all round the boat, and it is set-up for efficient ease of operation.
The four cylinder 75hp Ford diesel steams the boat comfortably and very economically at 6.5 knots, ahs been very well maintained and is easily accessible via a large hatch in the cockpit floor
The Salar 40's are very well respected bluewater cruising vessels, this is a very good example.
