About the Team

Managing Broker, Jack Allison, has a connection with boating began from birth, having grown up around vessels of every type with dinghy sailing, that later evolved into high-performance racing, and recreational powerboating. He started his professional career as a qualified captain on private motor yachts operating throughout the Mediterranean and the United States, commanding multiple vessels and accumulating thousands of nautical miles under his YachtMaster 200 certification.

Following his return to Australia, Jack joined one of Queensland’s leading yacht brokerages, specialising in large motor yachts and working with international clientele in a highly competitive market. Today, Jack brings this valuable experience to Derwent Boat Sales in his hometown of Hobart, combining international expertise with a genuine passion for Tasmania’s world-class cruising grounds and boating lifestyle.

A qualified Yachtmaster with more than 50,000 nautical miles of offshore experience, she has worked as a delivery skipper, sailing instructor, and accomplished offshore racer.
Among her many achievements, Jo finished second in the 2018 Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race, one of the world’s most challenging double-handed ocean races. Renowned for her professionalism, integrity, practical knowledge, and unmistakable calm but directive approach, she provides clients with honest advice and expert guidance.

Stuart Watson brings more than 40 years of sailing experience and over 30 years of boat ownership to the Derwent Boat Sales team. A highly accomplished sailor, his achievements include four Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races, four circumnavigations of Tasmania, several Three Peaks Races, and a double-handed passage of his own yacht from the United States to Australia via Hawaii and the South Pacific.
In addition to his extensive offshore and racing experience, Stuart has held Yachting Australia qualifications as both an Instructor and Examiner for sailing and powerboating, and held the qualifications for an Australian Master 5 Certificate in Maritime Operations.
